Preparation

1
Assess the damage. If the strap's screw or bolt fell off, you can repair this. If the strap itself snapped, replacement is required.
-
2
Retrace your steps. If you have a general idea as to where you were when the ratchet strap came off, you may be able to find the missing components, such as the screw, bolt or the strap itself.
-
3
Obtain the parts. The size and shape of the components can differ slightly from one binding to another. If you lose any parts, you can find them at a snowboard shop or directly through the manufacturer.
-
4
Align the hole in the original or replacement strap with its corresponding hole in the binding.
-
5
Replace the Phillips-head screw by inserting it through the holes described in the above step.
-
6
Tighten the screw by inserting a large Phillips-head screwdriver into the screw head and turn it clockwise until it is tight.
-
7
Replace the bolt. Use your hand to secure it to the protruding part of the screw, located on the other side of the holes described in Step Four.
-
8
Tighten the bolt using an adjustable wrench until it is completely resistant to movement. You have now fixed your ratchet strap.
