How to Make Snowboard Straps

Snowboarding straps take just as much strain as the snowboard itself. The straps are used to secure you to the snowboard. Your feet must be securely attached to the board so that you have control over direction and speed. The wear and tear that you put your straps through often causes them to break. When this happens, you can fashion your own in a pinch with a few supplies available at the hardware store.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the two screws that hold the straps in place. Do not remove the screws on the buckle bindings, only the ones that hold the straps in place. Keep the screws and the washers in a safe place. Remove the straps.

    • 2

Use a knife to cut the buckle from the self-ratcheting nylon strap. Lay the broken strap onto the new self-ratcheting nylon strap to measure for length. Cut the new straps to length.

Insert the new straps into the slots in your snowboard. Replace the screws and washers and tighten them with the screwdriver.
