ASA Softball Base Path Distance Rules

Youth Slow Pitch

In ASA youth slow pitch, there are 60 feet (18.29 meters) in between the bases in the boys' and girls' 10 years old and under and 12 years old and under divisions. This base distance is raised to 65 feet (19.81 meters) for those 14 years old and under, 16 years old and under and 18 years old and under in both the boys' and girls' leagues.
Youth Fast Pitch

Youth fast-pitch leagues ranging from 10 years old and under to 18 years old and under require base path distances of 60 feet (18.29 meters) for both boys' and girls' leagues.
16-Inch

Another ASA league uses a 16-inch softball. This league is available for adults only and the base path consists of 55 feet (16.76 meters) for women and 60 feet (18.29 meters) for men.
Adult Slow Pitch

This league is available for adult men, women, co-ed play and major play. For men, women and co-eds, the base path is 65 feet (19.81 meters) and for majors, it is 80 feet (24.38 meters).
Adult Fast Pitch

In the ASA adult league, men, women, junior men and junior women all have the same base path distance of 60 feet (18.29 meters).
