2008 Miken Freak Limited Edition
-
This is a bat that swings and feels much like the original Freak 98, however, this one is legal to use in competition. The sweet spot of the bat is extremely large which allows maximum distance of ball travel to be achieved even when not hitting the ball perfectly. The warranty is not the best as you are only allowed a one-time replacement regardless of circumstance. However, the price is fantastic for a highly productive bat such as this. The 2008 Freak Limited Edition can be purchased for less than $250 as of January 2010.
2008 Rip It Reaper
-
Rip It is a new company that is supplying some of the best hitting bats and other equipment in slow pitch softball. The new Reaper bat has a large sweet spot and has a size and weight very similar to the Original Miken Freak. This bat performs well even before it has been broken in. This bat is smooth through ball contact which can create a feeling of not hitting the ball hard as you do not get any recoil or vibrations. This is an Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) approved bat and can be purchased for approximately $300 as of January 2010.
