One way to enjoy this as an outing for friends and family is to go the batting cages. Often the batting cages are busy, so it's a good idea to rent them. Here are a few tips for renting softball batting cages.

      Locate the closest softball batting cages to you. These often are located at mini-golf locations or other golf courses. Places that have "family fun" recreation centers including go-karts, bumper boats and carnival games usually have batting cages. But be sure they have softball offered and not just baseball.

      Determine how many friends and family members will be coming with you. Often, batting cage facilities have a basic rate for a group or decreased rates per person with a group of a certain size or larger.

      Rent the softball batting cage by the hour. Depending on the size of your group, you may only want to rent the cage for an hour or two. Check into this option.

      Rent by the day or part of the day. It might be more feasible for your group if the cage is rented all day or for an entire afternoon. Ask about this option too.
