1
Select a hardcover book. If you do not wish to ruin one you currently own, browse the aisles of your local used book store or thrift shop. Make sure the the book is wide enough and thick enough to conceal a weapon and properly close.
-
2
Pour the glue out of the container and into a small bowl. It is probably best to use a plastic bowl you don't mind throwing away. Mix a small amount of warm water with the glue so that the combination is roughly 70 percent glue to 30 percent water. Diluting the glue like this allows for easier application.
-
3
Open the book and decide where you want to start a hollowing-out process. Again make sure that enough pages are selected that the hole will be deep enough to conceal the weapon. Press the selected pages tight against the back cover and use the paintbrush to apply the glue to the paper edges. Apply an even coat along all three exposed sides and allow it dry. After about 45 minutes, apply another coat.
-
4
Open the book to the first glued page and trace an exaggerated outline of your gun with a pencil. Use the box-cutter to slowly and deliberately cut through the layers of pages. Use a ruler as a guide to help maintain a straight line. This will take some time, so take breaks as needed.
-
5
Once the inside of the book is hollowed out, apply glue to the inner edges of the cut pages. Allow 45 minutes for it to dry.
-
6
Place your gun inside your new hidden safe and tuck it away safely out of sight and out of reach.
