How to Install an AR15 Sling

The AR15 is an assault rifle used by the United States military. While the AR15 is not in use, a sling can come in handy. All AR15s come with a sling mount. The sling attaches to swivel rivets on the front and back of the rifle. You don’t have to be a gunsmith to install a new sling on your AR15. You can do it yourself with just a few tools.

  • Swivel rivets
  • Vice
  • Hammer
  • Sling

      Insert one of the swivel rivets into the sling mount on the bottom of your barrel.

      Place the head of the swivel rivet into a vice.

      Line the swivel rivet up with the sling mount.

      Tap the swivel rivet into the sling mount with a hammer.

      Repeat these steps for the swivel rivet to the second sling mount on the bottom of the gun’s butt.

      Connect your sling to the two swivel rivets.
