How to Install a Sadlak QD Post

When shooting in a competition or hunting, it is important to be as accurate as possible with every shot. Adding a Sadlak QD post to your gun allows you to rest the front of the gun on the post on the ground to help you improve your aim. Attaching the Sadlak QD post to your gun requires you to remove a few pieces from the gun first. You will then insert the necessary screws and nuts to secure the post to the gun.

Grasp the trigger guard on your gun and pull backward until it unlatches from the gun. Pull the guard downward and swing it away from the barrel, and pull it straight down to remove it from the gun completely. Turn the stock upside down and tap the rear of the stock against a flat surface to get it to detach from the receiver. When it does, pull it out and set it aside.

Use the grinder to remove the two rivet heads located on the swing swivel on the stock. Do not overhead the rivets while grinding as this can cause parts of the gun to melt. Dampen the rivet heads with a rag periodically while grinding. With the removed, lightly tap the rivets through the hole to remove them.

Use the power drill and a 9/32 bit to drill through the rivet holes and enlarge them. Use a dulled bit in order to prevent cracking or damaging the stock. Use a drill press if you have one to help keep the stock intact while drilling.

Place the interior oval nut plate on the inside of the holes. Place the oval washers on the outside of the stock and insert the QD Post connectors through the washers and holes and thread them into the nut plate. Tighten the connectors until they are locked into place. Place the button head screw into the hole on the QD Post and thread it into the opening on the nut plate.
