Skate & Snowboard Clothing

Outside of special clothing they need to perform in their sport, skaters and snowboarders have a distinct fashion style that is popular among youth and young adults. Clothing companies, designers and even hip-hop artists like Lupe Fiasco and Pharrell Williams have been influenced by the sport.

  1. Sneakers

    • Skate shoes commonly referred to as kicks are worn by skaters during competition and snowboarders and others for fashion and comfort. They are wide with thick shoelaces, a thick rubber sole and heel stabilization. Popular skate shoe companies include DC, Vans and Adidas. Vans also makes snowboarding boots.

    Jackets and Hoodies

    • Snowboarding jackets are made of comfortable, lightweight materials like Gore-Tex that breathe but also keep athletes warm. The jackets are also popular among the general public because of those features. Both snowboarders and skaters wear hoodies with creative designs for competition and as streetwear.

    Graphic T-shirts

    • T-shirts with elaborate designs and slogans are a staple in snowboarding and skateboarding culture. They are sold by equipment manufacturers for these sports as well as major retailers. Famous athletes often release their own T-shirt designs to the public.
