Ensure the gun is not loaded, then disassemble your pistol following the manufacturer's directions. Using a nylon brush soaked in lubricant, scrub the frame of the gun to remove any firing residue, paying particular attention to the magazine area. Soak a cleaning patch in lubricant and wipe all exposed metal to lubricate the frame and wipe clean with a dry cloth to remove excess lubricant.

Select a bore brush that fits the size of your barrel. Moisten the brush and attach it to the cleaning rod. Starting at the chamber end of the barrel move the brush in and out of the barrel at least ten times, taking care to completely exit the end of the barrel with each pass.

Remove the bore brush from the cleaning rod and replace it with a patch holder. Slide a clean, dry patch through the patch holder end. Feed the patch through the barrel, removing and replacing the patch after a few passes, until the patch comes out clean.

Saturate a clean patch and wipe the exterior of the barrel, wiping clean with a dry patch. Feed a patch soaked in lubricant, using the patch holder and cleaning rod, through the barrel. Feed a clean patch through the barrel to remove excess lubricant.

Clean recoil spring and guide using a dry brush to remove any firing residue. Wipe with a patch soaked in lubricant. Wipe clean with a dry patch.

Clean both the interior and exterior of the slide using a nylon brush soaked in cleaning solvent, paying attention to the extractor, which can cause stoppages in the gun if it gets clogged. Wipe with a patch soaked in lubricant and wipe clean with a dry patch.

Clean the magazine with a lint-free cloth and reassemble your gun.
