Fit Guide for SixSixOne Core Saver

The SixSixOne Core Saver is body armor worn to protect the human spine from injury during high-impact athletics. The vest, made of injection-molded plastic, is fastened to athletes with a Velcro waist belt designed to hold it in place and support the spine. The armor is composed of a breathable mesh. The SixSixOne Core Saver comes in four sizes: youth, small/medium, large/extra large and extra-extra large. The fit of each size correlates with the wearer’s T-shirt size. In 2011, all sizes of SixSixOne Core Savers are available for $139.95.

  1. Youth SixSixOne Core Saver

    • The youth-size SixSixOne Core Saver is designed to fit smaller athletes. Like the other available sizes, the youth model features a removable breastplate made of hard plastic. The specifications list indicates that the youth size fits those with a chest measuring 30 to 31 inches and a waist of 24 to 26 inches.

    Small/Medium SixSixOne Core Saver

    • The next-larger SixSixOne Core Saver is made for athletes who wear small and medium T-shirt sizes. Like all models, this vest is equipped with high-density shoulder pads made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). This material provides athletes with protection without sacrificing mobility. The small/medium SixSixOne Core Saver fits individuals with a chest of 36 to 38 inches and a waist of 31 to 33 inches.

    Large/Extra Large SixSixOne Core Saver

    • Large/extra large SixSixOne Core Savers fit athletes with chests measuring 44 to 46 inches and waists of 38 to 40 inches. As with the other models, vests in this size have a vented underlayer made of EVA. The manufacturers say the vest provides more coverage of the lower internal organs than any other suit.

    Extra-Extra Large SixSixOne Core Saver

    • Extra-extra large is the biggest SixSixOne Core Saver available. It provides spinal protection to those who have a chest of 48 to 50 inches and a waist of 42 to 44 inches. Like the vests of the other sizes, the extra-extra large SixSixOne Core Saver is designed with large arm openings to provide athletes with freedom and range of movement.
