1
Apply the waterproofing gel recommended by the manufacturer of the boots to brand new Gore-Tex leather boots. Using a clean rag, work the gel into the pores of the leather, then allow them to dry thoroughly before wiping away any excess gel.
-
2
Clean your boots regularly. Shake off any dirt, rinse them with water and use a soft brush to remove any dirt encased in the pores of the leather. Wipe the boots with a wet rag or sponge. Use a cleaning gel if it is recommended by the manufacturer of your boots.
-
3
Apply a conditioner to your boots whenever the leather appears to be dry. Flaking and cracking are indicators of dry leather. Only use the products recommended by the manufacturer of the boots.
-
4
Apply a waterproofing gel to your cleaned and dried boots if you notice they are getting heavy with water. Only use the products recommended by the manufacturer of the boots.
