Squash Associations

Squash is a racket sport enjoyed internationally by professional and amateur players alike. The Women's International Squash Players Association estimates that nearly 20 million individuals play the sport on approximately 50,000 courts in 150 countries. Many squash associations provide support to those who play the game.
  1. Professional Squash Players Association

    • The Professional Squash Players Association serves as the official sanctioning and membership body of men's professional squash. The organization facilitates the Men's World Squash Circuit, also called the PSA World Tour, a year-long tournament of single-elimination games. The association assists local promoters in scheduling and planning each game. It also tracks and publishes player performances and rankings. Membership is open to players at four levels: world members, continental members, country members and junior members. Candidates at each level must meet specific age and skill requirements as stipulated by the Professional Squash Players Association handbook in order to obtain membership.

    Women's International Squash Players Association

    • Operating in a manner similar to the Professional Squash Players Association, the Women's International Squash Players Association is a circuit of professional women's squash games around the world. Tournaments have been hosted in such diverse cities as New York, Monte Carlo, Mexico City and Kuala Lumpur. The group boasts three membership levels. Applicants are only granted membership if they meet a specific level of competence, as determined by the Women's International Squash Players Association.

    College Squash Association

    • Established as the Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association in 1931, the College Squash Association is the combined name for the Men's College Squash Association and the Women's College Squash Association. This collective is the official governing body of intercollegiate squash in the United States. The association hosts conferences and tournaments throughout the year. It tracks performances and publishes team rankings. The College Squash Association also bestows a variety of awards on those who excel in the sport.

    Regional Squash Associations

    • In addition to the two major international squash association and the United States college organization, there a host of regional squash associations around the globe providing resources to local players at all skill level. Examples of this include Indian Squash Professionals, Squash South Africa and Squash New Zealand.
