  • Household or court-sweep broom
  • Electric sweeper or leaf blower (optional)

  • Water hose equipped with high-pressure nozzle

      Clear the tennis court of any debris including trash, leaves and dead insects using a household broom or a wide-edge court-sweep broom. Start in the middle of the court and push debris from the center to the end. Repeat on each side of the court. Be sure to clean all lines and around the net area. You can also use a leaf blower or other electric blowing device.

      Wash the court to remove any remaining dirt and remove stains. Using a water hose equipped with a high pressure nozzle, mix the water with soap or detergent and spray all sides of the court. Pay extra attention to the lines. Push remaining debris off the court using the water stream. Allow the court to dry and then go back and wash off any remaining debris.

      Inspect the court after it dries and make note of any mold, mildew or algae spots still present. Use a cleaning agent designed to remove mildew and mold and apply it to the court. After cleaning, check the problem areas frequently to make sure the mold, mildew and algae does not return.
