How to Teach My Self to Arch My Back for Jumping
When performing a high jump, your back needs to arch properly. If you do not arch your back properly, you will not only jump over the bar, and you may injure yourself. With proper training and lots of practice, your back will be ready for high jumping in competitions. Know your limits beforehand, as you do not want to strain yourself to the point of injury.

Practice jumping onto a pad or a bed. When jumping into the air, bend backwards.
-
2
Stretch your back to allow you to bend better. One exercise that increases your back's dexterity is touching your toes while keeping your feet together and your legs straight.
-
3
Work on your jumping technique. To correctly jump over a high jump bar, run directly toward the bar. When you are only a few feet from the bar, starting running parallel with the bar. Jump off the foot you normally jump off, and tilt your head back, then arch your back as you go over the bar.
