Patch: A neck pull is really a pain in the neck, punt intended. It takes a long time to get better. The first is to "Patch it up" with a hot patch. Use the ones from the pharmacy or make your own by heating a neck wrap in the microwave. This will enable the blood to flow in your neck and help the healing process.

Advil or any pain killer will help you be more mobile during the day. If your neck hurts mobility is very difficult due to the pain, so the pain killer will help with this, although not really part of the healing process.

3
Compression: At night while reading or watching TV use "compression" shirt or turtle neck to keep the healing process going while not moving. This helps with the heat patch and blood flow.
-
4
Elevation: When in bed elevate your head so not a lot of pressure is placed on your neck while sleeping. Especially if you sleep on your stomach your neck is twisted which does not help in the healing. Use a pillow to prop your head and try to keep it straight.
