What Special Equipment Is Used in Volleyball?

The Court

A regulation size volleyball court is 59 feet long by 29.5 feet wide. A net divides the court in half, with one side for each team.
The Net

A volleyball net is 40 inches wide and 29.5 feet long. The top of the net should be placed 7 feet-11 5/8 inches above the ground for men, and 7 feet-4 1/8 inches above the ground for women.
The Ball

A regulation volleyball is made of leather or synthetic leather. The circumference of the ball is between 65 and 67 centimeters, and the weight is between 260 and 280 grams.
Knee Pads

Knee pads are recommended for new players who will probably land on their knees a lot. However, in general, knee pads are optional for volleyball.
Players

In regulation volleyball, each team consists of six players. Each team has one server who puts the ball into play.
Scoring

Each time one team errors, the opposing team is rewarded with a point. The game is traditionally won by the first team to get 25 points and be ahead by 2 points.
