Troubleshooting a Dive Computer Air Integrated Hose
Instructions

1
Inspect the hose of the dive computer before every dive. Check for cracks and abrasions. The computer connects to the air supply via a high-pressure hose. Any chance the air has to escape can cause a big problem from the diver. Any cracks or abrasions on the hose indicate that you should replace the hose immediately. Take the hose to your nearest service center and have the high-pressure hose replaced.
-
2
Connect the regulator assembly (which includes the dive computer) to a tank, and turn on the air pressure. Listen for any sound of escaping air. Immerse the computer and hose in water and check for any bubbles escaping. Any sign of bubbles indicate that the O-ring requires replacement. Take the computer to a licensed service center. Explain where you saw the bubbles escaping from. Request a service for the computer.
-
3
Compare your computer display to back up sources of information. If your computer is displaying different depths to your depth gauge, or different air supply to the submersible pressure gauge, then you need to take the computer to have it serviced and calibrated. Take it to a licensed service center. Explain the problems you are having. Request a full service for the device.
-
4
Wait for the computer to come out of "Error" mode. If the computer displays an error sign at the end of a dive then it has likely to do with the fact that a decompression stop was omitted. The computer should be left for at least 48 hours to reset itself out of error mode during which time you should remain out of the water as a safety precaution.
-
5
Wash the unit in fresh water after every dive. Do this to prevent against the computer controls becoming obstructed by salt build ups which can corrode the controls and affect the computer sensors. Occasionally, take the time to wash the computer with detergent and a light scrubbing brush.
-
6
Service your dive computer every two years or after every 200 dives. This is to make sure that it is working order and all calculations are being correctly made. Take the computer to a licensed service center. Request a service for the computer.
-
7
Inspect your dive computer for moisture inside. If you see any evidence of moisture under the screen, for example, take the computer to a licensed service center. Explain the problem. Request a service for the computer.
-
8
See if the battery sign is blinking. Hose air integrated computers do no have user replaceable batteries as the unit needs to be opened. Take the computer to a licensed service center. Request that the battery be changed.
