How to Keep Score for Little League Baseball

As the game gets ready to start the coach usually goes up to the parents and asks, "Who wants to keep the book?" Keeping score in little league isn't just tallying up the runs, but involves keeping the batter order, outs and base runners. Depending on how in depth you want to keep the book, you can also keep track of how the out happened.

Instructions

    • 1

      Write down your batting order.

    • 2

Give your batting order to the other team. Also get their batting order. As each batter makes his or her way around the bases darken the line between each base.

    • 3

Make which number out they are in the bottom left corner of the box if a batter is out. You can also mark where the out took place by making a line half way through the baseline. For example, if a runner is out as he runs to second, darken the line only half way along the baseline.

    • 4

Indicate a run when a batter makes it around the bases by shading in the diamond.

    • 5

Write K in the middle of the diamond if a batter strikes out. If it is a looking strike out (as in they do not swing on the last strike) write the K backwards.
