How to Get in a Perfect Three-Point Stance
The three-point stance in football is primarily used by linemen. It's called a three-point since the player has one hand on the ground along with his two feet. At the snap of the ball, the linemen on both sides fire up out of the stance and collide with each other. In 2010, some football experts debated outlawing the three-point stance for safety considerations, but it remained a basic part of football as of 2011. A "perfect" three-paint stance is achieved with the proper technique, good footwork and balance.

1
Crouch down into a comfortable squat position. The feet should be shoulder-width apart. The big toe of your strong side should be even with the instep of your other foot.
-
2
Raise the heel of your strong side foot no more than 1/4 quarter inch of the ground, but keep the other foot flat.
-
3
Plant one hand on the ground straight down from the shoulder. Lean forward, but do not put a lot of weight on the hand. You must be able to pick the hand up and set it down again with falling.

Put your other hand or elbow on your thigh.
-
5
Keep your head up. At the snap of the ball you should be able to drive forward but clearly see what you hit.
