How to Be a Competitive Swim Coach

Swimming is a challenging sport that requires hard work and discipline, as well as proper form and technique. All four of the variables can be accomplished on one's own, but having a certified coach makes it much easier. With a competitive swim coach on board, it takes a lot of guesswork out of the equation, as strokes can be closely analyzed, workouts can be administered and practices can be monitored by a certified USA Swimming coach.

Find swim clubs and coaching opportunities in your area. If you have any trepidation about starting at the top level of competition, begin with a younger population and work your way up. Hone your skills of teaching, training and coaching with children who want to excel at their sport, moving upward and onward over time.
