How to Buy Bungee Jumping Equipment

1
Consult an expert. The instructor who guided your previous jumps can explain what you will need.
-
2
Study the mechanics of bungee jumping and how the specific products relate to the overall picture. There are only a few basic bungee items the average jumper needs. These include bungee chords, which are sheathed or all-rubber, and harnesses (chest and waist, or the more advanced ankle harness). There are smaller items like carabiners (which connect cords to anchors), shackles and padded bumpers to prevent the equipment from hitting the jumper.
-
3
Buy from accredited dealers. Only order from websites that specialize in bungee equipment. If buying from a retail store, make sure that the salesperson has bungee jumped or is familiar with the equipment and its functions.
-
4
Assess products as carefully as you can. Of course, you probably won't be able to take them on a test run before purchasing, but listen to other users and compare products to what you have used in previous jumps.
-
5
Put safety first when buying and using bungee equipment. If the equipment doesn't seem sturdy or professional enough, don't buy it. Use only the strongest, best quality equipment you can afford.
