How to Install Tear-Offs on MX Goggles

Motocross (MotoX or MX) is an extreme sport in which athletes compete to complete a pre-set course riding a motorized bicycle or other all-terrain vehicle. MotoX evolved from a UK sport known as scrambling and, remaining true to its predecessor, continues to be a contest of speed and agility on an uneven, dirt track. Riders are exposed to large amounts of dust and dirt while riding. This grime decreases visibility significantly. Removable plastic shields, called tear-offs, are attached to goggles and visors to eliminate this problem.

  • Tear-off tabs
  • MX Goggles
  • Mild soap
  • Water
  • Non-abrasive, lens cloth

Instructions

      Clean your goggles with soap and water. Remove any padding if possible.

      Wait for the goggles to dry. Do not attempt to dry the interior of the lenses while wet. Follow additional cleaning restrictions per your goggle manufacturer's directions.

      Remove the tear-offs from their packaging without touching the center.

      Take off the white paper protecting the self-adhesive surface.

      Hold the tear-offs by the edge and adhere them to your goggle lenses. Hook the left side of the tear-off stack onto the post button at the side of your goggles.

      Attach individual tear-off sheets (if you are not using a stack) by placing them on the lenses and securing the four corners with a piece of masking tape. Adhere a tear-off tab to the right side of the plastic sheet. Continue layering tear-offs with tabs on the left side.
