Are Kimber Rear Sights All the Same Measurement?

Kimber America produces a wide variety of pistols, rifles, pepper-spray guns and optics. The company has been a manufacturer of firearms, and other weapons and components, since the late 1970s.
  1. History of Kimber

    • Kimber Manufacturing was originally founded by a father and son team in Oregon -- Jack and Greg Warne -- in 1979. Jack Warne, originally from Australia, came to the United States when his Australian arms company was bought out by an American firm. Kimber's first weapon was a .22-caliber rifle that had the reputation of being extremely accurate. During the 1980s, Kimber went through a series of financial woes. By the 1990s, Kimber was manufacturing rifles and a full line of pistols. The company is is especially well known for its 1911 models.

    Product Line

    • Kimber hunting-rifles include those in 84 M series. The 84 L tactical-series rifles are used by many police forces around the country. Kimber makes a line of sporting pistols that are often used by the Marines and LAPD swat teams.

    Sights

    • The rear sights on all Kimber pistols -- as of 2011 -- have the same specifications. An augmented sight with a lens or light enhancer fits any of the many Kimber models.
