How to Remove Baffles From Yamaha Motorcycle Exhaust Pipes
Things You'll Need
- ¼ inch drill bit
- Power drill
- Needle nose pliers
- Hammer
- Chisel
- Dremel tool with cutting head
- Black heat-resistant spray paint

Cut the weld off the exhaust cone, which is installed by the Yamaha factory inside the tip of the pipe. With the weld broken, pull the cone from the end of the pipe with needle nose pliers. Discard the cone.

Drill random holes through the baffle plate that surrounds the center pipe in the interior of the pipe. With several holes drilled in the baffle plate, push the remaining baffle plate material backwards with the hammer and chisel until the material is laid down flat within the pipe.

Grip the center pipe with the needle nose pliers and twist the center pipe tube with as much force as you can until you feel the weld break. Pull the center pipe out of the main pipe.

Spray black heat resistant paint into the pipe to complete the baffle removal process.
