Inline Grinding Skates That Are Under $50

In the skating world, grinding refers to sliding sideways down a rail on the bottom of your skates or skateboard. Inline skates made for this kind of aggressive skating are equipped with a grind insert, a concave, reinforced piece on the bottom of the skate between the front and back pair of wheels. While most skates with grind inserts run well over $50, there are a few brands you can find for less.
  1. Rollerblade Fury Aggressive Skates

    • The Rollerblade Fury is a basic level aggressive skate with a sleek design that retail for $45 to $60. The Fury is equipped with ABEC-5 bearings and 58 mm wheels, and fastens with both laces and a top buckle. Its insert is both foam and gel for added shock absorption, and skateaggressive.com says "the wheel durometer rating [wheel hardness] of 88A means you can throw anything you want at the Fury and it'll survive."

    Corr ATS Kids Aggressive Skates

    • Corr's ATS skate, retailing for $45 to $55, comes only in kids' sizes, and is equipped with a nylon frame and a grind bar, with 56 mm wheels and ABEC-1 bearings. The ATS fastens with a cam lever and Velcro strap, and its soft-shell boot contains an internal support system to cushion your foot from the wear and tear of aggressive skating. Corr's adult aggressive skate, the ATA, retails from between $75 and $115.

    Used Options

    • Buying used skates is a good option if you're on a budget.

Finding brand new skates with grind bars and inserts for under $50 can be difficult. Used skates, however, are a good option if you're shopping on a budget. Check out online sites that allow used product sales or visit pawn shops to find grinding skates within your price range.
