Ideas of Things to Do for an Adrenaline Rush
-
Paranormal Investigation
-
Creepy locations can put you in flight-or-fight mode. Taking part in a paranormal investigation may not be the first adrenaline-inducing option that comes to mind. However, spending some time in a reportedly haunted location can get your adrenaline flowing without much effort on your part. For many, just the thought of coming face-to-face with a ghost is enough to increase heart rate and perspiration. Keep things safe---and legal. Getting arrested for trespassing may provide an adrenaline rush, but you do not have to resort to such extreme measures. Bring some basic equipment such as a camera, handheld recorder and flashlight to document any paranormal encounters. Looking back at captured evidence can also provide a quick adrenaline fix.
Face Your Fears
-
Spiders can create an instant adrenaline rush. Whether you have a fear of the dark, spiders, public speaking or small spaces, facing those fears can not only provide an adrenaline rush, but may also help you overcome these fears. Exposing yourself to situations that normally cause you to break out in a cold sweat can turn out to be quite satisfying in the long run. Volunteer for a presentation at work or spend 10 minutes in a pitch-dark room, and instead of counting the minutes until you can remove yourself from the situation, take the time to really experience it. Taking on new challenges through activities you would normally avoid is a rewarding way to live life and get that adrenaline pumping through your system.
Not-So-Extreme Sports
-
A basic bicycle can provide a safe adrenaline buzz. Sports like surfing, parasailing, rock climbing and cliff diving all provide that natural rush of adrenaline. However, just tackling a sport or activity that you have never tried, or maybe have not enjoyed since you were a child, may be all the rush you need. Strap on a pair of roller skates or borrow your child's skateboard and relive the exhilaration of speed and feeling the wind at your face. Just be sure to take the proper safety precautions and use a helmet, knee and elbow pads to keep potential injuries to a minimum.
