How to Make a Wooden Longboard Press
Things You'll Need
- Safety glasses
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Pine timber, 12-by-16-by-40 inches
- Drill
- Drill bit, 1-inch
- Industrial ban saw
- Orbital sander
- Sand paper, heavy-grade, medium-grade
- Six bolts, 1-by-14-inch, with washers and nuts
- Wrench

Lay your timber flat and drill six 1-inch holes through it so there are three along each 40-inch edge, spaced 18 inches apart, and 1 inch away from the sides and end of the timber.

Turn the timber so it is on one of its 12-inch sides. Draw a line down the 6-inch center of this surface in the shape you want for your longboard. This line is what your longboard will mimic when you are looking at its longest edge.

Cut the timber along the line using your ban saw. Sand down the saw marks with your heavy-grade sand paper and then with your medium-grade sand paper.

Place your unbent and/or unglued longboard between the timber pieces so it is out of the way of the 1-inch holes. Insert the bolts into the holes with a washer on each side of the timber and tighten down the nuts to press your longboard.
