List of Skateboard Tricks

You've seen them soar past you on the sidewalk or in the park. You've seen them tumble hard and keep on going. Skateboarding is an energetic and skillful sport that many children and adults enjoy. Skateboarders achieve spins, flips and slides with long hours of daily practice. The sport requires physical fitness and determination. You can learn basic skateboarding maneuvers with some practice.
  1. Ollie

    • The ollie is a skateboard jump trick that takes some patience and practice. The front foot should be in the middle of the board, and the back foot on the tail of the board. Bind the knees tight and snap the back of the board down to jump. The front foot should move upward to the front of the board to even out the balance. You can ollie low or high, depending on your skill level.

    Pop Shove-It

    • Spin your skateboard 180 degrees in the air to do the pop shove-it trick. To accomplish this trick you should be skilled at doing an ollie. When doing the ollie, move the back foot in a circular motion. The front foot moves forward to spin the board 180 degrees into the air. When you become skilled at this trick, you can pop shove the board into the air and catch it with your feet to land.

    Boardslide

    • The boardslide is a beginner level skateboard trick after learning how to ollie. Choose an object to slide across or grind. A steel beam works for the boardslide trick. Perform an ollie with a 90 degree angle. Brace the middle of the board against your grinding object. Weight on both feet should also be even for balance. During the ollie and grinding, the board slide across the beam. Twist the body 90 degrees to land. You have performed a boardslide.

    Boneless

    • You can learn this amusing skateboard trick with practice. Start riding the skateboard slowly. Then reach down and grab the front wheels. Pull the skateboard up into the air as you take your front foot off. Jump into the air with the board and put your foot back on the front of the board to land. The board should be in your control the entire time.

    Kickflip

    • The kickflip trick allows the skateboard to spin 360 degrees on a small jump. Start to ride the board with one foot on. Your heel should hang lightly off the board, because this trick requires the use of your toes. Use the toes of your free foot to grip the underside of the skateboard. Pull the board up into the air with your toes and flip it 360 degrees. This trick will take some practice to achieve.
