Awesome Freestyle Skateboard Tricks

After you have mastered the "ollie" and "manual," it's time to show off your skills by learning several sick freestyle skateboarding tricks. Freestyle tricks are performed when the skateboard is not on a ramp or other obstacle. From kickflips that launch the board into the air to moving around with only your hands on the board, these tricks will take lots of practice to master.
  1. Kickflip

    • When moving forward on your board have your front foot in the center of the board and your back foot on the tail. Push down onto the tail of the board with your rear foot to pop the board up. As you're popping the board, kick your front foot out towards the top right corner of the board. This will flip the deck over. Land both feet onto the deck when it completes a rotation to end the kickflip.

    Fingerflip

    • To perform a fingerflip, begin by moving forward on your board. Bend down at the knees and grab the nose of the deck with your hand. Push both legs up and off the board while still gripping the nose. When your feet are just off the board, twist your hand to flip the board sideways and back onto its wheels, landing both feet back to their starting position. With more air, you can try to rotate the board more than once before landing.

    Toe Hook Impossible

    • Start with your back foot pressing down on the tail of your stationary deck. Bring your front foot under the nose of the board and kick up and back. This will cause the deck to flip backwards. When this happens, raise your back foot up to allow the deck to flip over your back foot and land on the ground. A variation of this involves crossing your feet and keeping your front foot on the back of the board while performing the hook with your back foot.

    Handstand

    • The handstand trick is performed on a moving skateboard. To perform this trick, ride along a straight line with both feet on the board and the deck itself parallel to your body. While moving, bend forward and press your hands on each end of the board. Push down and kick your legs up to enter the handstand. Maneuver around with your hands while twisting your body to keep yourself in balance.

    Yeah Right Manual

    • This trick is performed with two boards. Place one board down the road in front of you and start pushing off riding another board. Pass alongside the left side of first board and when both decks are parallel to one another, lift your right foot and place it onto the nose of the stationary board. While doing this, transfer your right foot to the tail of the moving board. Press both feet down slightly to perform a manual on each board.
