How to Do a 360 on a Skateboard

Skateboarding is all about control, balance, grace and trying not to break bones while hurtling across the concrete. The best way to learn about control, balance and grace is to perform tricks with the skateboard. Of course, this is also the best way to break bones while hurtling across the concrete. But, if you are safe and wear the right safety gear, you will give yourself a great chance to be the best skateboarder you can be.

Instructions

  1. How to Do a 360 Ollie on a Skateboard.

    • 1

Find a suitable place. A high curb is a good place to start.

    • 2

Gain a little speed on the skateboard.

    • 3

Twist your shoulders in the direction opposite to the way you will eventually 360, like you are coiling a spring.

    • 4

Get your foot far back on the tail-end of the skateboard ready for the scoop. The "scoop" is popping the board, then pushing down with the ball of your rear foot to make it spin.

    • 5

Scoop hard while whipping your body around in the direction of your 360.

    • 6

Guide the board with your rear foot. Your front foot is likely to leave the board, but try to keep both feet on the board. Both feet are needed for maximum control of the board.

    • 7

      Make the landing.

    • 8

      Find a suitable location.

    • 9

Gain a little speed on the skateboard.

    • 10

Position your feet so your back foot is right on the tail-end of the skateboard ready to cuff (popping with your toes over the tail edge of the board), and your front foot is roughly in the middle of the board with the heel over the edge of the board ready to flip.

    • 11

Cuff the board with the rear foot while performing a 360 Shove It and a Kick Flip at the same time with the front foot. Point the toes of your front foot down toward the floor while the rear foot cuffs the board. When the board is as vertical as you can manage, whip the front foot up along and through the board, upward and outward to create the 360 flip.

    • 12

Watch the board flip and try to see your landing before you make it.

    • 13

Make the landing in a steady position with feet just behind the head and in front of the tail of the board.
