How to Execute a Parachute Landing Fall

Dreams of flying through the air are a common occurrence, and parachuting is the closest that most come to flying. Nevertheless, what goes up must come down. The ability to execute a parachute landing is critical to safely completing a parachute jump.

Instructions

    • 1

Prepare to make the landing. Parachute landing falls can be made in any of the following positions depending on body position: forward left, forward right, left or right. Make sure the body is erect and the toes are pointed in the direction of the parachute landing fall.

    • 2

Arch the hips toward the roll and look ahead and down with the eyes at a forty-five degree angle.

    • 3

Execute a parachute-landing fall. The landing fall should come in one continuous smooth motion. The first contact things to contact the ground are the balls of the feet. There should be a slight bend in the knees in the direction of the fall. Tuck the elbows in close to body and expose the side of the body to the fall.

    • 4

Practice the landing as many times as necessary on the land. Go through as many walk-throughs until the jumper is comfortable with the procedure. A jumper should be able to execute a landing without thinking about the specifics.

    • 5

Be sure the order of contact is correct; balls of the feet, calf, upper leg, rear end, and finally the side of the back. Keep a good grip on the toggles during the entire parachute landing fall.
