The HJ 112, 150 and 151 all vary in size. The 151 is the smallest, the 112 the largest and the 150 is in the middle. The HJ 112 is the largest because it contains buttons on the front that allow users to switch between modes and set up the pedometer. The HJ 150 and 151 integrate the buttons on the top and sides of the device, making the two models smaller.
Memory

All three Omron pedometers, 112, 150 and 151, store information for the user, and can retain up to seven days of information in memory. Each day past the seventh is deleted automatically.
Features

The HJ 112 offers the most features, like measuring regular steps and aerobic steps, which is walking more than 60 steps per minute or continuous walking for more than 10 minutes. It also measures time, distance, calories burned and fat grams burned. The 151 offers more features than the 150, such as distance and differentiation between regular steps and moderate steps, which are are defined as brisk walking at three to four miles per hour. The 150 has only the most basic feature, which is counting regular steps. All three automatically reset at midnight and are ready to go the next day. Additionally, all three models have a clock on the display.
Sensors

The HJ 150 and 151 use a single-axis sensor to track movement, and therefore require precise placement to be accurate. The user manual for the HJ 150 and 151 state that the front of the pedometer must not be placed at angle of less than 60 degrees. The HJ 112 uses a double-axis acceleration sensor that allows the pedometer to be placed horizontally or vertically on the hip, allowing more flexibility for placement than a single-axis. The HJ 112 allows for stride calibration which increases accuracy, whereas the HJ 150 and 151 cannot be calibrated for stride.
