The Difference Between the ProForm XP550E & XP550S
-
Design
-
The XP550E and the XP550S look the same down to the control buttons on the console. These are fold-away treadmills; the deck lifts so you can store the machine in a vertical position. The XP550E and XP550S feature a 2.75-THP Mach Motor that can support speeds up to 10 mph, in .1-mph increments. The power ramp inclines up to 10 percent. Both machines can support users up to 300 pounds.
Features
-
The running area on the XP550E and XP550S is 55 inches long and 18 inches wide. Both machines feature ProForm's maintenance-free walking belt that doesn't require any lubrication. Pulse sensors on the handrails allow you to check your heart rate as you work out. The console has a built-in fan that helps keep you cool. The LCD screen provides information on the workout time, speed, incline, approximate calories burned, heart rate and distance.
iFit Technology
-
The XP550E and XP550S feature iFit interactive technology. Connect your treadmill to your home stereo or computer using the included audio cable. Download workouts from the iFit.com website or order iFit workout CDs separately. Play the workouts and a virtual personal trainer guides you through your session while the iFit program automatically controls the speed and incline for you. Each workout includes background music for increased motivation and intensity.
Programs
-
The ProForm XP550E and XP550S each offer six built-in workout programs. Four of the programs are profile workouts. The XP550E divides each workout into 20, 30 or 50 one-minute segments, and the XP550S divides each workout into 30 or 50 one-minute segments. The treadmill adjusts the incline and speed settings for you. The XP550E offers two heart-rate control programs where the machine adjusts the intensity to keep your heart rate in a target zone. The XP550S doesn't have the heart rate control programs, but it does offer two customizable programs.
