Instructions for a ECG2 Heart Rate Watch

The ECG2 is a heart rate watch that was produced by the Sports Instruments company for use while running, walking or riding a bicycle. The ECG2 features a watch face that you can use to tell the time like any normal watch. The benefit of owning this device is that you can also switch between the time and an active heart rate monitor that will tell you how fast your heart is beating while you are working out.

Instructions

    • 1

Wet the rubber pads on the back of the transmitter belt. Use only saliva or ECG conductive gel -- do not use water or oil. Place the belt over your head and onto your bare chest -- the transmitter must touch the skin. Adjust the strap so that the transmitter fits snug over your chest.

    • 2

Place the watch on your wrist like you would any other wrist watch. Adjust the strap so the watch fits snug on your wrist to prevent it from falling off while running or exercising.

    • 3

Press the "Mode" and "Start/Stop" buttons located on both sides of the face of the watch at the same time. Hold them both down for several seconds until the face lights up and you see several dashes on the screen. This indicates the watch is on and has established a link with the transmitter.

    • 4

Wait a moment for the transmitter to read your heart rate. The rate will be displayed in the center of the watch face. If you do not see a heart rate and the dashes continue to flash, the transmitter may not be in contact with your skin. Take off the transmitter and try again.

    • 5

Press the "Mode" button at any time to switch to the time keeping function of the watch. Pressing the "Mode" button again will switch back to the heart rate mode, allowing you to keep track of both while you exercise.
