How to Put Together a Bowflex

Many people have heard of the Bowflex. Bowflex is a home gym that involves a system of resistance rods, cables and pulleys. The Bowflex offers workout flexibility, as it offers over 30 different exercises and it supports up to 210 pounds of resistance. Putting together a Bowflex machine is not very difficult, however you may need some assistance with some of the heavier pieces to avoid hurting yourself.

      Place the four end caps on the ends of the base stand piece. Attach the lower lat tower piece to the base stand piece. Position these pieces so that the screw holes line up. Insert the two sets of bolts and washers into the screw holes. Tighten the screws, but not completely snug yet.

      Use the included four sets of bolts, nuts and washers to secure the seat to the seat slider. Attach the iuncluded rubber pad to the end of the rail that is on the opposite side of the flat connector plate. Line up the holes on the seat rail's connector plate to the holes on the leg extension piece. You will use two more included sets of bolts, nuts and washers to attach this assembly together.

      Place the end of the seat rail unto the front of the lower lat tower piece. Insert a bolt to secure in the upper hole on the side of the mount. When the bolt is through the rail, secure using a nut and washer. Place the seat rail securing knob into the hole on top of the mount. Also secure this piece with a bolt and tighten it to keep it in place.

      Place the lat tower cross bar into the top of the upper lat tower. Use two sets of bolts, nuts and washers to secure this piece in place. Place the bottom end of the lat tower cross bar into the end of the lower lat tower. Use six sets of bolts, nuts and washers to secure these pieces together.

      Locate the resistance rods. These need to be placed onto the plate that is sticking out from behind the lower lat tower. Insert three threaded screws and washers into the underside of the plate. Secure by tightening the screws. The rod bundle will have an end plate that needs to be secured by placing the end plate over the end of the bundle, and tightened by using two sets of bolts and washers.

      Place the chest bar assembly piece on the lower lat tower, matching the screw holes on the two pieces. Secure using two sets of bolts, nuts and washers. Thread the two metal rods through the holes on the top of the leg stand, as well as the leg assembly arm. Use the rods to secure the cushions, then insert caps into the open ends of cushions.
