1
Place the bow down on a flat surface, then place the right- and left-hand bow pulleys next to the right- and left-hand side of the bow. Place the crossbow stock lateral to the bow.
-
2
Place the rail caps onto the screw mounts on the bow and align them to the receiving threads on the stock of the crossbow. Screw the bow down to the stock (this is where different crossbow makers use very different attachments. Use whatever fixtures are required for your crossbow.)
-
3
Lubricate the pulley bushings and slide them into the tips of the bow. Use the retaining pins to secure them to the bow.
-
4
Insert the squat-pin into the trigger mechanism. The squat-pin is a long, slender, round piece of metal that holds the cocking mechanism in the lock position until the trigger is pulled back, releasing it and the string.
-
5
Thread the bow string across the bow, through the pulleys and onto the bow nocks. This is a strenuous task as the bow strings are often under tremendous pressure. Use an assistant or go to an outdoor outfitter where they have a special vise used to thread crossbow strings.
-
6
Attach any sights or scopes to the crossbow and go shoot.
