How to Get More Coordinated

Coordination is being able to move your body about in a functional and purposeful manner. You can improve your movement patterns and maintain proper form and posture by increasing coordination. Balance and stability are components of coordination that are crucial to achieving overall bone and muscle health. If you have difficulty playing sports or carrying out specific daily tasks, your coordination likely needs improvement.

Instructions

    • 1

Balance on one foot by lifting the other off the ground. Close your eyes for an added coordination challenge, but keep your hand near a sturdy chair or the wall in case you lose your balance.

    • 2

Take dance lessons. Try different music tempos for a varied movement pattern.

    • 3

Do tennis drills to enhance your hand-eye coordination skills.

    • 4

Walk or jog the length of a basketball court while dribbling a ball with your right hand. Switch to your left hand and dribble the ball back to your starting position.

    • 5

Play baseball with a friend. Have your playmate throw the baseball from different angles as you attempt to successfully make contact with the baseball bat.

    • 6

Perform squats and overhead presses simultaneously.

    • 7

Do lunges with lateral raises incorporated on the downward motion.
