Instructions
-
-
1
Stand with your feet on the foot rails located on either side of the treadmill belt.
-
2
Place your hands on the metal contacts, located on the front of the treadmill. According to the treadmill manual you should hold the contacts for about 15 seconds for an accurate reading.
-
3
Read your heart rate when it's displayed on the screen. The heart rate will be displayed in beats per minute.
-
4
Compare your heart rate to the intensity level chart in the manual. The manual gives three intensity levels; the lowest number is your heart rate for burning fat, the middle number is the rate for maximum fat burning and the highest number is for aerobic exercise. The respective heart rates for a 20-year old are 125, 145 and 165; for a 30-year old they are 120, 138 and 155; and for a 40-year-old they are 115, 130 and 145.
