1
Fasten the monitor to your wrist as you would a wrist watch. Attach the chest strap around your chest just below your bra line. The chest strap transmits your heart beat to the wrist monitor.
-
2
Click the “OK” button on the monitor. This is the large silver button on the right middle side of the watch face.
-
3
Select “Settings.” Make sure your weight, height, birthday and gender are correct. Click “Yes” if these settings are correct, or “No” to change.
-
4
Select “OK” to return to the main screen and press “OK” again to begin the heart rate recording.
-
5
Select an exercise intensity from “Light,” “Moderate,” “Hard” or “Basic.”
-
6
Verify the OwnZone icon appears in the display. This should display automatically. OwnZone is determined in five stages. A beep will sound after each stage is complete.
-
7
Walk at a slow pace for one minute. Keep your heart rate below 100 bpm (beats per minute) during this first stage. A beep will sound when this stage is complete.
-
8
Walk at your normal pace for one minute. Increase your heart rate by about 10 bpm. A beep will sound when this stage is complete.
-
9
Jog at a slow pace for one minute. Increase your heart rate by another 10 bpm. A beep will sound when this stage is complete.
-
10
Jog or run for one minute.
-
11
Listen for two consecutive beeps. When you hear these beeps, your OwnZone has been determined. "OwnZone Updated" will display on the watch screen after successful determination.
-
12
Proceed with your exercise routine. To maximize exercise benefits, stay within the given heart rate zone.
