1
Sign up and attend a few indoor spin classes. Gain familiarity with the proper form to use on the spin bike. Learn how the bike should be set up and adjusted for your height and body type. Purchase a pair of cycling shoes and cleats that are installed on the bottom of the shoes so that you can clip your feet into the pedals. By clipping your feet into the pedals you are able to use more muscles to both push and pull the pedals during the class.

Contact fitness centers close to where you live. Speak with group class coordinators at different fitness centers and ask what qualifications are required to instruct indoor spin classes at their locations. Some fitness centers may require that you perform additional duties aside from instructing group spin classes.

3
Enroll in a spin instructor certification course. Most of the courses are taught over one to two days. Attend the course and complete any additional training, usually online, as required. The spin certification courses will teach you how to instruct indoor spin courses to include hill training, sprints, resistance cycling, heart rate monitoring and stretching techniques to prevent injury and increase strength. You will also learn how to pair music with workouts and coach those taking the class to keep them interested and motivated.

4
Complete any additional self-paced training requirements and complete any assessments required. Once you have successfully completed training and assessments, you may apply for your certification. A very common certification company, with over 30,000 facilities worldwide that accept their certification credentials, is the Spinning Certification Program. Once you are certified, apply to teach spin classes at the fitness facilities of your choice.
