The P90X workout system uses muscle confusion to transform your body. Muscle confusion is a technique that uses a variety of exercises to target the muscles, instead of repeating the same exercises twice a week. Your glutes, which are your buttocks muscles, and your brain will not get bored as you repeat the workout only once a week. This does not mean your buttocks muscles are only trained weekly. As you perform the plyometric workout and complete such exercises as jump squats, leapfrog squats and squat jacks, your buttocks muscles tighten and contract to help you jump off the floor. Your heart rate elevates during this workout to help burn calories and achieve the goal of burning fat so you can see your beautiful buttocks without an excess layer of fat.

The P90X leg workout uses multi-joint exercises, such as reverse lunges, side lunges and super skaters, to strengthen your glutes. You also perform static exercises, such as the wall squat with one or both legs, and the balance lunge to target the buttocks. A single-joint exercise known as a deadlift uses your glutes as you return to a standing position from a forward-fold stance.

The aerobic workouts of the P90X program include workouts called Cardio X and Kenpo. The Kenpo workout uses kickboxing exercises such as front kicks, side kicks and jumping jacks to elevate your heart rate. At the same time, your glutes contract to perform the various movements. The Cardio X workout contains segments of plyometric exercises which continue to target your glutes.
Yoga Bound

Your buttock-improving workouts do not end with strength-training and cardio. The yoga workout also challenges your glutes during movements such as chair, which is a static squat, and Warrior poses, which are isometric lunges. Even during a downward-facing dog, your glutes contract to maintain the position. The balance of your behind is enhanced with poses such as the tree, in which you stand on one leg.
