Mongooses Fighting Techniques
-
Using Small Size to Their Advantage
-
When attacking a cobra, the mongoose will bait the snake to strike at it once, avoid the strike and then keep it uncoiled, so that it is in a weakened position. The Mongoose Kung Fu master will do a similar thing against a bigger, possibly stronger opponent. He will allow him to attack first and avoid the attack with quick, stealthy moves, keeping his distance but tempting his opponent so that he is over-extended and working in the fight itself.
The Counter-Attack
-
When the opponent attacks the Mongoose Kung Fu master, much like when the cobra attacks the mongoose, the counter-attack is the master's greatest strength. He can retreat quickly yet attack with an incredible intensity at almost the exact same time. There are no flying kicks, intricate punches---the mongoose goes for the kill on the cobra, much like the Mongoose Kung Fu master goes for the kill on his opponent---attacking in a straight line to the neck, head or chest and putting the opponent down as quickly as possible.
Power Through Positioning
-
When the Mongoose Kung Fu Master does attack after constantly retreating and waiting for the perfect moment, he does so through positioning himself in a way that he can deliver a massive, damaging blow to his opponent. A portion of this is done through observing his opponents moves and timing his attack perfectly. He uses the leverage of his body, which doesn't require much physical strength but attacks his opponent's weakness, whatever it may be. This way a Mongoose Kung Fu master can take down a much bigger and stronger opponent.
