How to Become a Taekwondo Instructor
Instructions

1
Choose a Taekwondo teacher to learn from. This step is vital because you will be, wittingly or not, carrying on the traditions of the school you choose to join.
-
2
Study what your teacher tells you, practice diligently, and pay close attention to what goes on inside yourself as you learn. As you learn Taekwondo forms you will develop superior concentration and focus. Taekwondo kicks and strikes will make use of this focus while teaching you control and precision. All Taekwondo training, properly done, teaches discipline.
-
3
Learn from everybody. The lower ranked students will teach you as much--or more-- than the Black belts in class. Watch how everybody learns and teaches; much of what goes on may be unconscious for them, but if you are a keen observer you will be able to learn from others.
-
4
Teach beginning students when your instructor asks you to. This is both a job, a gift, and a test; you're performing a useful task, you're being given a high degree of trust, and your knowledge will be tested as you develop the ability to teach through trial and error. The better attention you paid to how others teach and learn in Step 3, the easier this step will be.
-
5
Continue teaching more advanced students as it is permitted. This method of becoming a Taekwondo instructor leaves much up to the discretion of your instructor; if you're not willing to trust him with this, you're either in the wrong school or not yet ready to teach.
