How to Take Apart a Slate Pool Table

Putting a slate pool table back together can be a trying ordeal without the proper help, but taking one apart to move it is far simpler. While the disassembly will not require any advanced technical skills, you should have more than one person on hand to help move the large, heavy slates.

  • Socket wrench
  • Staple remover
  • Screwdriver

      Using the socket wrench, remove the bolts securing the rails to the table and remove the rails.

      Remove the staples holding your felt in place with the staple remover. If you intend to reuse the felt, be careful not to tear it in the moving process.

      Remove the screws that are holding the slate pieces in place.

      Carefully remove the slate with two or more people.

      Flip over the table, and use the socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the table legs in place.
