1
Pry off existing cushions from the pool table with a screwdriver or other flat instrument. Try not to scratch or scrape the wooden rails of the table with the screwdriver. Thoroughly sand the wooden rails, removing any glue or debris so the surface is smooth.
-
2
Locate the curved side of the cushion. This side will be on top when you have attached the cushion to your pool table. Sand down the side of the cushion that will be facing the rail, making sure it is clean and ready to accept the adhesive.
-
3
Apply the glue to the cushion and press it firmly against the pool table's wooden rail. Be sure that the cushion lays straight and even and there are no bumps or ripples in the rubber. The top edge of the cushion should be flush with the pool table's top. Do not stretch out the cushion when smoothing it out. A properly measured cushion should fit the pool table's length without any pulling or stretching required. Let the adhesive dry overnight.
-
4
Trim the end of each cushion with a utility knife after the glue is completely dry. The ends should be flush with the edges of the pool table's pockets. Apply adhesive to the ends of the cushions and install the facings. Trim the extra rubber from the facings once the adhesive is dry.
