How to Learn Snooker Tricks

As with any billiard game, snooker tricks range from difficult offensive shots to complex defensive strategies. To learn such tricks, it is helpful to consult an expert, either with face-to-face lessons or by consulting the many online resources.

Utilize as many snooker resources as possible. Read books on snooker, watch online snooker videos and purchase snooker training DVDs. Watch a lot of snooker either on TV or by streaming it online. Aside from physically playing snooker, watching snooker is one of the best ways to learn the strategies and techniques of the game.

Sign up to take online snooker lessons at snooker coaching websites such as SnookerGuide or TheSnookerGym (See Resourcres). Many of the websites about snooker are UK websites, but this should not restrict American users from participating in the training programs. Snooker Guide offers two free snooker lessons in the form of videos and (as of February 2011) charges about $32 for full access to snooker tutorials.

Contact a local billiards hall in your area, check that it has snooker tables available and inquire about possible snooker lessons. If it does not offer snooker lessons, ask whether you could arrange informal lessons with a snooker-savvy staff member at the billiards hall. If this is not an option, rent the snooker table to practice the trick shots on your own or with a friend. Much of the art of snooker comes from practice.
