What Is a Covey?

A covey is a term used to describe a small flock of birds, primarily a family. This a term only used for birds.

    • More than one covey may be close to one another, and the term coveys is used in such cases. However, if they actually live among each other, they're called a flock.

    • The word covey specifically applies to a small group of birds. It's not used to describe a grouping of any other type of animal or animals.
