How to Hook Up a Throttle to a Marine Carburetor
When you hook up the throttle on a marine carburetor, you're connecting the throttle lever and a throttle handle. You are using a marine control cable -- a length of wire encased in a plastic or metal sheath, to make the connection. You are controlling the amount of backlash, or excess cable, by adjusting the distance between a fixed fastener, called a trunnion, that holds the sheath, and the throttle lever.
