1
Remove the furnishings and cabinetry from the interior of the motorhome. Once all the furnishings have been removed, lift up the carpet or vinyl floor interior. Inspect the carpet and determine if it needs to be replaced as well.
-
2
Cut out the rotten floor boards using a jig or reciprocating saw to remove floor boards from the motorhome. If the damage is limited to a small area, cut out the damaged area only. If the boards are completely rotten you may need to remove all of them. Remove any insulation that is also damaged. Allow the area to dry thoroughly if it is still damp.
-
3
Install insulation pads between the floor beams to provide a greater level of heat retention inside the motorhome. Measure and cut the lengths of plywood to fit into the area you removed the rotted floor boards from.
-
4
Lay the plywood against the beams underneath and screw them into place using a power screwdriver and wood screws. Replace the interior flooring with new carpet or vinyl flooring and your motorhome is ready for another season.
